“ “A challenge of perception to get out of self-perception (drawings floating in a mirror that force us to look away from ourselves in order to see them). The concept of safe place refers to those safe spaces to which we return when we feel vulnerable. They can be childhood movies that we revisit, books that we reread, but also friendships or physical places. In this work, the idea of “safe place” does not seek to allude to safety in terms of shelter or private property, but to that space -sometimes mental- where one feels safe, even from oneself, and can open oneself with sincerity to elaborate and process. In a narcissistic society, finding comfort in some frame of memory in a non-technological static device is perhaps a poetic way to escape the hyper-demand for personal development of one's own brand or a virtual profile. In particular, the drawings I present here trace an invisible autobiography and also represent some of those common spaces where I have found, and still find, a rest within this uncertain world. tecnica (openwork mirrors with back printed fabrics)
